Sacred Games: Anurag Kashyap Made Me Shoot For The Nude Scene 7 Times On My First Day On Set, Says Kubbra Sait

Kubbra Sait, who is known for Sultan (2016), City of Life (2009), among others, is currently seen in a Netflix series ‘Sacred Games’ (2018). The actress plays a transgender character ‘Cuckoo’ in Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Sacred Games. Recently, Kubbra, who played a bold role in the series, speaking to IANS, had said, “Sacred Games has actually turned out to be the most challenging experience of my acting career. Playing a transgender isn’t easy as there are hardly any references that you can source out and seek help from.”

Talking about her nude scene in the show, Kubbra, in a statement to Times Now, said, “After I went to the audition, they told me there’s frontal nudity scene and when you see the show, you can see how beautifully it has been shot; how vulnerable it is. You can never go wrong when you have a great team to work with.”

On Kubbra’s first day on the set, Kashyap made her do the nude scene seven times. Further adding, the actress said, “He made me do the scene seven times- every time after the scene, he’d come to me and say I am making you do this so many times, sorry haan. Just one more time, ek aur baar, one more and I am going again, don’t hate me, I know you hate me, don’t hate me.”

Speaking of Anurag Kashyap, Kubbra said, “Just before the scene, I had a very happy, very excited, very joyful Anurag Kashyap jumping in front of me. Ache se karege haan, acha scene haan, ache se. I was laughing then, but I had to cry in the scene. We got to the vanity, he asked me what I drink, I said wine and he said get her a glass of whiskey. Helmed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, the crime drama is based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 thriller novel, starring Saif and Nawazuddin in the lead roles. Bankrolled in partnership with Phantom Films, Sacred Games, is set mainly in the Mumbai of the 1980s and ’90s, has received positive reviews from critics around the world, leaving fans wondering what’s next.
